PRIMARY SCHOOL In the 2001/2002 shcool year grades 1 - 3 will be offered. In the following years grades 4- 6 will be added. In order to offer more individualized teaching, class size is limited to 8 - 12 students. Most teachers are native English speakers with full teaching qualifications. Assisting them will be internationally and locally trained and qualified teachers. The school will be implementing the IBPYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme), an international curriculum being adapted by schools worldwide. The main language of instruction is English. Both English and Latvian will be taught in differentiated levels, in order to suit the needs of students. A specialized language teacher will be working with students with limited English proficiency, as well as with fluent Latvian speaking students. As a part of the Physical Education programme, swimming classes will be offered 2 times a week in the local Kipsala swimming pool. Art and Music lessons will be offered twice a week. Satellite TV and Internet will be available for all aducation programmes. Computer classes are planned to begin as soon as possible.
